Sleep?!?!?!?!?!

Since being united with Kamdyn, sleep has been a big adjustment. I will admit, I like to sleep! And guess what? Kam doesn't. Well, actually, she sleeps, she just likes to wake up every hour or two for a bottle. She will cry until a bottle is shoved into her mouth and her eyes roll back, and she goes to sleep sucking on her bottle. Yes, yes, I know--not a good thing for babies to sleep with bottles. Being a pediatric nurse for almost 19 years, I am well aware of this. I am also well aware of my moods if I don't get some sleep. And in case your wondering, she can wing a pacifier out of her crib in about 2 seconds flat--she does not find it amusing to suck on that nipple shaped thing and nothing comes out!

And she hated her crib. She would just stand and scream until I picked her up. So, I tried co-sleeping. It really made no difference, other than I probably got less sleep worrying about her in my bed. After our trip to my parents over the holidays, and knowing I was going back to work soon, I decided I needed to get Kamdyn to sleep in her crib. I put a chinese screen room divider around her crib (it is in my room) so she couldn't see me, and put her in her crib after her night bottle. The first night, she cried about 20 minutes before she finally fell asleep. I did go to her about every five minuted to lay her down, pat her, and reassure her. This is how she finally fell asleep, and yes, I did move her into a comfortable position after I took these pics.

Two weeks later and she is sleeping in her crib, but still waking up multiple times a night for a bottle. We are working on that. Last night, she actually went to sleep without a peep.
